He grimaced as he paused, stooping down to pack his gaping chest wound with a pile of fresh manure (when you're bleeding like that you have to use whatever’s available to patch the hole). He then returned to working, choosing to ignore the pain (which in turn did not return the favor of ignoring him)
All of those quick puns, silly jokes and funny ideas would forever fall on deaf ears and duller minds, yet he intently and painfully plodded on, all the while trying not to smear his signature makeup with the pooling mixture of sweat, blood and spilled scotch that seeped across his cluttered dressing room
